The #lovemybus champions are taking the bus for a whole year from Kilmarnock or Ayr to Glasgow and reporting back on their experiences. The champions will share what taking the bus means for their daily routine and the stories and anecdotes that they find on their journey. Bronagh chooses the bus because the bus allows her to sit back and unwind enjoying the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
How is your Journey going?
My journey has been really easy so far. There is a bus stop right outside my house, which is great, because I just jump on that to the main bus station then there is almost always an X76 waiting for me in Kilmarnock.
Is any of the information the lovemybus team have been sharing new/interesting to you?
Nothing really too surprising, but some I see the impact of some of the facts personally. For example, I definitely find it keeps me more active. I wear a fitbit and always try to do my 10,000 steps a day, and wee things like walking to the further bus stop or having a little walk around Glasgow while I wait for the bus are great for that.
I also find it very chilled out, I take the time to listen to my music, or watch a movie, I can have a wee sleep if it’s really early.
What are you enjoying about your journey?
Probably what I enjoy most that it tends to be my chill out time, that’s the time of day I take to relax. I don’t feel guilty about it because when I get home, I’ve got things to do, jobs or whatever, so I can just use the bus as my time to relax and enjoy a movie or my music.
Are there any challenges on your journey?
Not really, my only issue is when I finish work at 9:00pm and I have to wait for the bus for half an hour – 45 minutes.
