Occupation: Operations Supervisor for First Glasgow
Every day Ewan and fellow team members take on the big challenge that is allocating the fleet of 300 buses at the Caledonia Depot so they are assigned to drivers and routes.
“Certain buses have to go on certain workings, whether that be for branding or business requirements. It is certainly a big challenge, being the UK’s biggest Depot.
Our mission is to get every driver out on time with a bus and pick up our customers to get them wherever they wish to go.”
Ewan’s story and why he loves the bus:
I am an operations supervisor at First Glasgow, been with the company for nearly 10 years and spent 6 of them in supervisory positions. I am a keen bus enthusiast and have 2 of my own heritage buses. Buses are my passion and have been since I was a young boy, my first experiences travelling on them with my gran!
A brilliant bus story…
My best bus story recently is the first time I drove one of our new electric buses on the M3 service between Glasgow City Centre and Milton. It was one of the first days these vehicles were in service and the general public were amazed with the new vehicles, as was I. Quiet, smooth and warm. A total pleasure to drive. A brilliant vehicle, with all the latest technology and gave me an insight into what to expect our green future of buses to be like.
